On October 1, 2026 (decision No. 279), the National Commission on State Language Standards approved the new state standard "Barrier-Free Terminology".

The goal of the standard is to normalize and systematize terms and definitions in the field of accessibility in order to eliminate stereotypes and speech barriers.

The standard will apply to:

• in official documents of state authorities and local governments;
• in science and education;
• in public and professional communication.
