The head of the Kharkiv Regional Health Administration took part in a conference call chaired by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko. During the meeting, the participants discussed the implementation of government initiatives in healthcare.
«"The state continues to strengthen support for healthcare in frontline regions. This year, funding for emergency medical centers has been increased, and the average salary of a doctor in the system is already about 42 thousand hryvnias. Additional support is provided for emergency physicians in frontline communities through the medical guarantees program. Primary care funding has also increased - increased rates and additional coefficients for work in difficult conditions and combat zones are in effect," said Oleg Synegubov.
For specialized care facilities in front-line regions, a separate support package is in place to retain staff, which will be extended in the second half of 2026.
The meeting participants also focused on the accessibility of medical services. 1,778 health screening episodes for people aged 40+ have already been conducted in the Kharkiv region, and the program will soon be updated - it will be available regardless of birthday.
They also discussed the development of programs for endoprosthetics, dental prosthetics, and dental care for veterans.
The "Affordable Medicines" program is expanding from July 1 — new drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases will be added. In the Kharkiv region, 195 thousand people used it in 2025, and in the first quarter of 2026 alone — 115 thousand.
«"We are working on developing a network of mobile pharmacies and expanding the "Medicines Nearby" program with the possibility of selling over-the-counter drugs at gas stations. We are grateful to the Government for its support of the Kharkiv region. Even in wartime, we continue to ensure the availability of quality medical care for residents of the region, in particular in our frontline communities," said Oleg Synegubov.
