On the eve of the Day of Defenders of Ukraine and the Day of Ukrainian Cossacks, the memory of Ukrainian soldiers who died defending Ukraine was honored in the Defenders of the Fatherland Square.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Chuguiv City Council, military chaplains, and community residents. Those present prayed for the fallen Heroes, joined in a moment of silence, and laid flowers at the memorial.
During the event, it was emphasized that behind each name on the memorial lists is a person who had a family, dreams, and plans, but stood up for Ukraine in the most difficult time for the state.
Separately, words of support were expressed to the families of the fallen defenders. Preserving the memory of the fallen soldiers is a common duty of the community, notes the head of the Chuguiv city military administration, Galina Minaeva, who wrote in her Telegram channel: "Memory is not only flowers at the memorial. Memory is how we live on: how we protect our community, how we stick together, how we do not allow anyone to take away our freedom.".
Those present honored the memory of the fallen Heroes of Chuguiv Region and all of Ukraine and paid tribute to the military personnel who continue to defend the state.
