The results of a study on the quality of life, sustainability, and development prospects of the city's central part were presented in Chuguiv. The study was conducted as part of the project "Strengthening Urban Resilience in the Sphere of Life Support of Urban Territorial Communities in Ukraine" (SUR).
The project is part of German transition assistance, commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The study surveyed residents of Chuguev about the quality of life, sustainability, and development prospects of the city center. Experts also assessed the main risks that could affect the further development of this area.
As noted by the head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Halyna Minaeva, the results of the study combine the opinions of residents with the professional assessment of experts. This allows us to better identify the needs of the community and form priorities for its development.
The study became the first important stage in the preparation of the Sustainability Concept for the central part of Chuguev, which is being developed jointly with the NGO "Center for Urban Studies".
It is expected that the combination of the results of the resident survey, risk analysis, and expert work will help form a realistic vision for the development of the central part of the city and identify specific priority tasks.
For the Chuguiv City Council, the results of the study also have practical significance. They can be used when planning community work, as well as preparing applications for grant programs and international technical assistance programs.
«When resources are limited, it is especially important to clearly understand what the community needs and have professionally substantiated arguments for attracting additional support,» emphasized Halyna Minaeva.
According to her, the results obtained should become the basis for further decisions and practical steps aimed at building a more sustainable, comfortable, and modern Chuguev.
She separately thanked the project team, experts, and city residents who participated in the survey.
