On the eve of the Day of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine who died in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, the Chuhuiv community presented the second volume of the "Book of Memory of the Defenders from among the residents of the Chuhuiv urban territorial community who died in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.".
This is the second edition, designed to preserve for future generations the memory of our compatriots who gave their lives defending Ukraine. The new volume includes the stories of 73 Defenders – people whose lives, dreams, and plans for the future were cut short by the war.
The presentation of the book took place on August 28, 2026 in Chuguiv. The first copies of the new volume were received by the relatives of the fallen Heroes.
The publication is intended not only to record the pages of modern history, but also to preserve the living memory of each Hero. After all, to remember means to know not only the name and date of death, but also to see the person behind them: a son or daughter, father or mother, husband or wife, friend, colleague, countryman.
Addressing the participants of the event, the head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Galina Minaeva, noted:
– The Book of Memory for us is not just a publication. It is part of the history of the Chuguiv community and Ukraine. It is an opportunity to preserve for future generations the faces, names and life stories of our Heroes and Heroines. I thank the families of our Heroes for their strength, courage and for allowing us to preserve the memory of the people most dear to them. I thank everyone who worked on the creation of the second volume of the Book of Memory, and first of all to the employee of the city council Ivan Hryhorovych Ohienko. Behind each page is a great and very responsible work.
The Chuguiv community continues to work to ensure that the names of the fallen Defenders do not fade from memory. The book is becoming one of the important ways to preserve their stories and pass them on to future generations.
Let us recall that the first volume of the Book of Remembrance was presented two years ago, on August 29, 2024. Then the families of the fallen Heroes were also the first to receive its copies.
Today, the second volume complements this memorable book with new names and stories, continuing the chronicle of the courage of the residents of the Chuhuiv community.
Let us remember our Heroes and Heroines. Let us honor their memory. And let their feat inspire us to great deeds for the future of Ukraine.
