On the eve of the new school year, the traditional August pedagogical conference was held in the Chuhuiv community - a meeting that brings together educators every year to summarize, discuss current issues, and determine priorities for the future.
This year, the event was held under the slogan "Education is Everyone's Business." This idea became the overarching theme of the conference: the quality of education and the development of children are the shared responsibility of teachers, parents, the community, and the state.
During the conference, the head of the education department of the Chuhuiv City Council, Maryna Rebrova, summed up the results of the 2025/2026 academic year and presented the main results of the work of the community's educational sector.
Despite the difficult conditions, students from the Chuguiv community demonstrated significant achievements. The number of participants in the first stage of the Olympiad increased, and according to the results of the regional stage, students won twice as many prizes as last year. For the first time in a long time, the community has two winners of the regional stage of the Chemistry Olympiad.
Participants of the Small Academy of Sciences also showed high results. Six graduates passed one of the subjects of the National Secondary School with the highest score of 200 points. Among other achievements - the successful performance of the swarm "Otaman" of Lyceum No. 8 at the regional stage of the game "Sokil" ("Jura"), the team of Lyceum No. 6 reached the final of the regional stage "Side by Side: All-Ukrainian School Leagues", sports and creative victories of students of the Youth and Sports School, the Center for Tourism and Local Lore, and the House of Children and Youth Creativity. In particular, students of the BDYUT took part in 58 competitions, festivals, and tournaments during the year and won 362 victories.
Special attention during the conference was paid to supporting children and overcoming educational losses. The community continues to implement UNICEF projects, pedagogical partnership centers for preschoolers operate, and additional free classes have been organized for students in grades 1-11. An important component of this work remains psycho-emotional support for children and creating opportunities for their development.
Another important area is career guidance. The community is beginning an active phase of a project aimed at students in grades 7-9, who will soon be deciding on their future educational and professional path. Among the tasks of the new school year is the creation of a career guidance hub and a communication campaign on career building and choosing a professional path.
Considerable attention was also paid to the resumption of full-time education. In the past school year, the construction of two civil defense protective structures was completed in the community, which made it possible to seat 460 students at their desks. Organized transportation to and from the place of study was provided to 179 children. In the new school year, the need for transportation is already 211 students, and some of the routes are planned to be carried out by school buses transferred to the communal property of the community.
In parallel, work is underway to improve the nutrition of schoolchildren. Starting from the new school year, the community is moving from sandwich products to full-fledged nutrition. The reconstruction of the catering unit of Lyceum No. 5 has already begun, and in the future, the renovation of the catering units of other educational institutions will be carried out.
Among the strategic tasks is preparation for the high school reform. From September 1, 2027, an academic lyceum should begin operating in the community, while other institutions will transition to the status of gymnasiums. Therefore, the 2026/2027 academic year should be a period of active analytical and preparatory work, in particular, the implementation of the MES roadmap and broad informing of community residents about the essence and significance of the reform.
The community is also continuing to work on creating safe conditions for children before the new school year. Nine safe spaces are maintained for educational purposes, for the renovation of which over three years more than 60 million UAH was allocated from the community budget. International and public partners were involved in the arrangement of individual locations.
The head of the Chuguiv city military administration, Galina Minaeva, took part in the conference. Welcoming the educators, she emphasized that today education is truly everyone's business. After all, not only teachers, but also parents, employees of municipal enterprises, and specialists who provide nutrition, transportation, health care, safety, and the proper functioning of the educational infrastructure are involved in creating conditions for children's learning and development.
Halyna Minaeva thanked the teachers for their daily work, support for children, organization of distance and in-person learning, extracurricular and extracurricular activities, and assured that education remains one of the key priorities of the Chuhuiv community.
During the conference, educators were also awarded. 15 employees of community educational institutions received awards for their conscientious work, high professionalism, and significant contribution to the development of education, the introduction of modern technologies, and the upbringing of children and youth. Four representatives of the educational sector were also awarded certificates of honor by the Kharkiv Regional Organization of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Ukraine.
Traditionally, the conference became not only a working, but also a creative meeting. Young community artists - students of dance and vocal groups - performed for the educators. The event ended with wishes for a successful start to the new school year and gratitude to the defenders of Ukraine for the opportunity to teach and learn.
Ahead is a new school year, new tasks, projects, and challenges. And most importantly, working together for the sake of children, their safety, development, and future.
