On the eve of Ukraine's Independence Day, an outdoor event "Caring Nearby" was held in the Chuhuyiv urban territorial community, organized to meet with war veterans and their family members, in particular the families of the fallen defenders.

The event was attended by representatives of the Department of Veterans Affairs of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Chuhuiv City and District Military Administrations, regional and district services and institutions. The Head of the Chuhuiv City Military Administration, Galina Minaeva, and the Deputy Head of the Chuhuiv District Military Administration, Oleksandr Apostol, addressed the attendees with welcoming words.

During the meeting, the participants discussed current issues of veteran policy and opportunities for supporting veterans and their families. In particular, they discussed the activities of the veteran space "Side by Side", pension provision for veterans, servicemen and their family members, employment and training opportunities, as well as protection of the rights of families of servicemen who have gone missing or are in captivity.

Representatives of relevant services provided explanations and informed those present about available support mechanisms. Particular attention was paid to the possibility of direct appeals by veterans and their family members with issues that need to be resolved.

The meeting resulted in the identification of areas for further joint work and interaction. Participants also had the opportunity to leave their comments and raise issues that are important to them and their families.

At a time when Ukraine is fighting for its freedom and independence, supporting those who defended and continue to defend our state is a shared responsibility. "Caring Nearby" is about attention, concrete assistance, and willingness to be by our side with veterans and families of our defenders.
