On August 14, the first meeting of the supervisory board was held at the Chuguiv Central Hospital named after M. I. Kononenko. It became the first supervisory board established at a communal enterprise of the Chuguiv community.

The Supervisory Board consists of seven people: three representatives of the founder - the Chuguiv City Council - and four independent members elected through a competition. Among them are representatives of the public, business, and the leadership of regional military medicine.

During the first meeting, the council members elected its chairman by secret ballot.

As noted by the head of the Chuguiv City Military Administration, Galina Minaeva, the creation of a supervisory board should contribute to greater transparency and openness in the hospital's work, as well as further improving the quality of medical services.

«"We do not view the supervisory board as a controller or, even more so, as an obstacle to the daily work of doctors. On the contrary, it is an additional resource and assistant that should help the hospital develop, find solutions, and maintain the quality of medical care at the proper level," the head of the MVA emphasized.

One of the key challenges for the community's healthcare sector remains the staffing shortage. The hospital is currently short of about 250 doctors, nurses, and junior medical staff.

The work of the medical institution is also affected by the decrease in the number of patients. Due to the forced resettlement of residents of Kupyansk, Shevchenkove, Vovchansk and other settlements, the number of people previously served by medical institutions of the Chuhuiv community has decreased. This, in turn, affects the financing of the hospital.

The city authorities acknowledge that there are no simple solutions to overcome these problems. At the same time, they emphasize the need to seek new opportunities, attract specialists, and use the experience of independent members of the supervisory board.

It is expected that the joint work of the city government, medical staff, supervisory board, public, and partners will help the hospital overcome current challenges and maintain the accessibility and quality of medical care for community residents.

«"There are many challenges. But the main thing is that we see them, talk about them openly, and together we look for ways to overcome them," Galina Minaeva concluded.
