A resident of the village of Kamyana Yaruga, Chuguivsk urban territorial community, senior sergeant of the 37th separate marine brigade, Serhiy Maar, was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order of the Gold Star.

This highest state award is a recognition of exceptional courage, heroism, and selfless service to the Ukrainian people, demonstrated while protecting the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
