The CrossFit competition took place on May 17 in Kharkiv with the assistance of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

35 military personnel and veterans with limb amputations from Kyiv, Lviv, Chernihiv, Odessa, Kharkiv, and other regions participated in them. They all came to this friendly meeting to show their indomitable spirit and their strength in various sports disciplines.

We are very proud that our compatriot, a combat veteran, Vladislav Kunov, took third place in the tournament.

The competitions were held in the following categories: "Mixed Group", "Athletes with Lower Limb Amputations Above the Knee", "Athletes with Upper Limb Amputations", "Athletes with Lower Limb Amputations Below the Knee", "Professionals", and a demonstration training complex "First Step" was also held.«

«Crossfit is an interesting all-around competition, because participants learn about the exercises only when they enter the arena. It’s like going into combat positions — you don’t know what to expect. Therefore, you need to calculate your energy and strength. All athletes are motivated and demonstrate high results. I am grateful to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration and charitable foundations for their help in organizing the competition,» said Oleksandr Goncharov, executive director of the «Game of Heroes» project.

And the head of the Kharkiv OVA, Oleg Synegubov, emphasized that the development of adaptive sports is an important component of veteran policy. Injuries have not broken the spirit of our military, and sports contribute to maintaining moral and psychological state, reintegration into civilian life together with their comrades.
