Dear residents of the Chuguiv community! Dear liquidators and veterans of Chernobyl!

Today we commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster – a tragedy that forever changed the fate of thousands of people, left a deep mark in the hearts of Ukrainians, and became a painful lesson for the entire world.

April 26, 1986 is a date that has forever been engraved in the hearts of Ukrainians as a symbol of pain, courage, and self-sacrifice. Forty years separate us from that terrible night when the peaceful atom became an uncontrollable element. But time cannot erase from our memory the feat of those who were the first to go into the fire, who protected not only Ukraine, but the whole world. Many of them gave the most precious thing - their lives and health.

It is symbolic that on the eve of this memorable date, a special event took place in our community. We planted bushes of white roses near the monument to the liquidators.

These flowers were not chosen by chance. The white rose is a symbol of purity and the bright memory of those who did not return from the Chernobyl hell; it is a symbol of the rebirth of life, which despite everything continues on our land, and the gratitude that we cherish in our hearts.

May these flowers remind us every spring of the high price at which the liquidator heroes won our present. Today, in the face of new challenges and threats, we understand more than ever the value of security and responsibility to future generations.

I express my sincere respect to all the liquidators who live near us. I wish you good health, family comfort, and peaceful skies over our Ukraine.

Eternal memory to the fallen heroes of Chernobyl.

A low bow to the living.

Sincerely,

Head of the Chuguev City Military Administration Galina Minaeva
