On behalf of the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov, his deputy Yevhen Ivanov and deputy Vita Kovalska held a meeting within the framework of the platform "Dialogue between authorities and business." During the event, they discussed the development of veteran business and the creation of employment opportunities for defenders.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the veteran community, the Ukrainian Veterans Fund of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, the municipal institution «Veteran Space “Side by Side”, the Main Department of the Pension Fund of Ukraine in Kharkiv Region, the Kharkiv Regional Employment Center, the Regional Department of the State Property Fund of Ukraine for Kharkiv Region, the Kharkiv IT Cluster Public Union, the Kharkiv Center for Vocational and Technical Education of the State Employment Service and other professional education institutions.

The platform "Dialogue between Government and Business" provides an opportunity for veterans to receive practical explanations regarding grant programs and available employment tools. We will continue to expand cooperation with specialized institutions and partners to create more opportunities for veterans' self-realization," said Yevhen Ivanov.
The participants of the event discussed the current mechanisms for supporting veteran entrepreneurship, in particular the grant programs of the Ukrainian Veterans Fund. To date, the Fund has already allocated over 900 million hryvnias to create and scale businesses for veterans, and 34 representatives of the Kharkiv region are among the winners of the competitive selections.
«"We continue to strengthen work in the field of veteran policy in the Kharkiv region. Investments in veterans are not only about the economy, but above all about justice, gratitude and dignity of the state. For many veterans, their own business becomes an important tool for adaptation, an opportunity to provide for their family, implement their skills and join the restoration of communities," emphasized Vita Kovalska.
Special attention was paid to vocational training and retraining of veterans. The Kharkiv Center for Vocational and Technical Education of the State Employment Service offers 44 licensed professions and 59 educational programs in demand on the labor market. In particular, this includes both classic working specialties and new technological areas. During 2025–2026, almost 300 veterans have already been trained at the Center.
The participants were also presented with the opportunities of the State Employment Service: the "Own Business" grant program for veterans, compensation to employers for employing defenders, training vouchers, job placement programs for people with disabilities. The importance of flexible employment formats and self-employment, which allow combining work with rehabilitation and recovery, was separately emphasized. In addition, during the meeting, the possibilities of using state property to start a veteran business were discussed. The issue was the lease of unused facilities in the region for the development of their own business by veterans.
