A meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine was held in Kyiv today. The event was chaired by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov.
Most members of the Presidium joined the meeting via video conference, four participants were present offline. During the event, a new Chairman of the Presidium of the Congress was elected - Viktor Mykyta, who holds the position of Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine and is the Executive Secretary of the Presidium.
The decision was made by the members of the Presidium at the proposal of the Head of the Presidential Office, Kyrylo Budanov, and with the approval of the Head of State, President Volodymyr Zelensky.
«"I have held preliminary consultations with the Chairman of the Congress - President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and based on their results, I nominate the Deputy Head of the President's Office Viktor Mykyta for the position of Chairman of the Presidium. Viktor Fedorovych has demonstrated the best organizational skills, including in working with the Congress," noted Kyrylo Budanov.
In total, 48 meetings of regional Congresses, three meetings of the Presidium, three Congress hearings, a national-level Congress, and an International Summit of Cities and Regions were held in 2025. This work strengthened the internal resilience of Ukraine, our regions, communities, and our path toward full EU membership and peace.
